Nancy (Davis) McCausland

Nancy (Davis) McCausland, 83, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Manor Care of Ross Township. She was born May 30, 1933, at home, in Emsworth, daughter of the late William and Ruth Davis. While at Avonworth High School, she participated in chorus and was a majorette. She attended Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. While at Carnegie Mellon, she was a member of the Alpha Tau chapter of Delta Delta Delta women's fraternity. After graduation, Nancy worked for both U.S. Steel and PPG. She married Walter Blair McCausland on June 6, 1959, and they were married until his passing in April, 1989. She was a devoted wife, sister and aunt and loved time spent with Walt as they moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., Miami, Fla., and Indianapolis, Ind. She loved bowling and golfing and excelled in both. She and Walt shared a love of miniature schnauzers and they considered Tiny, Chipper and Cricket their furry children. They shared joy in several litters of puppies from Chipper and Cricket. Nancy had a lifelong love of music, singing in chorus and choir throughout school, and continued to sing in her church choirs until just a few years ago. She was also a talented pianist and organist and took great pleasure in playing. Nancy was a witty, fun loving woman with a terrific sense of humor. She was a woman of strong faith and sense of service, volunteering with her churches throughout her life. Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Sylvia Davis Stuckrath, of Cureglia, Switzerland. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Davis Hazeltine, of Matthews, N.C. She will be missed by her nieces and nephew, Andrew Hazeltine, of Birdsboro, Pa., Susan Moshier, of Matthews, N.C., Linda Gottschalk, of Leiden, Netherlands, and Lisa Martinenghi, of Cureglia, Switzerland. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in New Life Community Church, 45 N. Fremont Ave., Bellevue, PA 15202. Interment will be held Friday at 11 am. in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless.  Arrangements are in the care of McDONALD-LINN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE LLC., 529 California Ave. Avalon, PA 15202.
