Wayne T. Scanlon, age 58 of Pittsburgh, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024. He was born on November 3, 1965 and was the son of the late Regis Terry and Diane (Groetzinger) Scanlon.
Survived by his beloved wife, Melanie (Tabb) Scanlon; loving daughter, Lacey (Eric) Ziolecki; grandchild, Riley Ziolecki; close family friends, Aaron and Nathan McCann; Mother-in-law, Jennifer Tabb; two sister-in-laws, Marjorie Tabb and Danielle Thomas; bestfriends, Brian Young and Stephen Zapatka; and many family and friends.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Bethany Scanlon.
Wayne worked for the family owned Carol Wayne Chocolates in the North Hills for many years as a cook and worked as a General Contractor for his own business Scanlon Remodeling, and retired as a maintenance man for Presbyterian Senior Care where the residents and his coworkers enjoyed his presence. You could always find Wayne building something, working in his garden, and collecting RC Trucks.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 529 California Ave., Avalon, PA 15202. Calling hours prior to the service will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Suncrest Hospice in Waynes name (300 Penn Center, Suite 120, Pittsburgh, PA 15235).
