Thomas Lloyd Jr. Obituary

Thomas Richard Lloyd Jr., 64, of Avalon, formerly of Dormont, sadly passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022. Tom joins his father Thomas Richard Lloyd in heaven.

He is survived by many loving family members including his wife, Ruth Ann (McCauley) Lloyd, mother Alberta May Lloyd, siblings Daniel Lloyd and Julie (Mark) Overand, children Chris Lloyd (Rafalena), Rob Lloyd (Olivia), and Caitlin (Brandin) Hutchinson, step children Mary, Kate, Beth, Lynn, David and Emily, and many grandchildren and step-grandchildren for whom he always kept the candy dish full. Tom loved his family and he loved baseball. He spoke very fondly of the time he spent coaching little league and watching his boys play the game over the years. Vacations with his wife often centered around visits to stadiums and gifts for the newest family members always included New York Yankees’ attire, even those who were born to Red Sox fans. Tom was an ardent public servant. He generously volunteered for the Dormont Fire Department for 25 years. He was a member of the Avalon Borough Council for 8 years and held the title of Mayor of Avalon since 2017. Tom will be dearly missed and always remembered.
