Pauline Pence Kent, age 94, of Emsworth, left this life to an eternal one on January 17, 2012. Born in West Union, OH, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold E. Kent of New Boston, OH, her parents; Thomas Owens Pence and Leota Shipley, her brothers; Roy (Beulah) and Thomas O., Jr. (Ruth), a sister; Grace Plummer (Richard), a nephew; Jerry Pence and a grandson; Thomas Roy Fincke. She is survived by twin daughters; Ruth Taylor (Larry) of Geneva, OH and Alma Fincke (Edward) of Emsworth; ten grandchildren; Sharon Joles (Keith) of Claridon, OH, Jennifer Basista (Mike) of Wickliffe, OH, Mike Fincke (Renita) of Houston, TX, Amy Fincke (Leann) of Maple Grove, MN, John Fincke (Beth) of Phoenixville, Glenn (Jodie) of McDonald, Jason (Melissa) of Arlington, VA, Mary Beth Fincke of Jamaica Plain, MA, Russell (Daphne) of Taipei, Taiwan and Francis Fincke of Agora Hills, CA; also survived by eight great grandchildren. Pauline Worked for the Kroger Company and retired to take care of Harold with failing health. He passed away in 1987, and Pauline began the work of God with Minister Ken Barner, who encouraged her to sing with and visit the Allegheny County Jail inmates. They also worked at the Light of Life Mission. She received several awards for her dedication from the Allegheny County Jail Chaplin. Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 7 until time of services at 8:30 PM at the McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Inc. 529 California Ave., Avalon. and again on Tuesday from 10 until time of services at 11 AM at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home, 216 Mulberry St., West Union, OH followed by interment in Kirker Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Emsworth U.P. Church, 73 Hiland Ave., Pgh., PA 15202.
