Age 96 of Masonic Village at Sewickley, formerly of Emsworth and Bellevue, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 04, 2022.  Born August 17, 1925, the daughter of the late Katherine Stamm Joyce and adopted at birth by Lydia and John Ackerman. A 1943 graduate of Bellevue High School. Attended the University of Pittsburgh. Worked 42 years in various positions at Gulf Oil Corp. , in the Gulf Building in Pittsburgh. She was an active member of the Emsworth U.P. Church for many years where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and served as an Elder. Volunteered at Meals on Wheels for 20 years and also at the Dorway. She was preceded in death by her parents in both families and in her biological family by four brothers and three sisters. Surviving in her adopted family are a cousin Carol (Walter) Lisica, several nieces, nephews and friends including Dr. and Mrs. Robert Downs. A memorial service will be conducted at the McDonald – Linn Funeral and Cremation Service 529 California Ave, Avalon, PA 15202 on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be donated to the East Liberty Family Health Care Center, 6023 Harvard St. Pittsburgh, Pa 15206 or a charity of one’s choice.
