Lorelei (Lori) (Cook) Woods, age 85 of Avalon, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. She was born on August 2, 1938 and was the beloved wife of the late George Woods Jr.
Lori was known for her "spunk", as the love of her life, Skip (George) called it. Those who met her in later years still saw the evidence of her spunkiness, as it carried her through difficult times. She cared for Skip with great devotion and care throughout their 52 years of marriage. She was also the caretaker of many others through the years, both personally and as a profession. She was caring, compassionate, and accepting of others. Her organizational skills, coupled with her intelligence and work ethic were evident in her work as a secretary and in her daily activities of life. Her creativity flourished in the "home on the hill" that she and George built together over a 50 year period. That home stands strong in the memories of others who knew and loved
Lori and Skip. Rest in peace together with God now.
Survived by her sisters, Darlene (George) Pavlik and Karen (Rick) Berger; nieces and nephews, Bridget (Mike) Rainey and kids, Seth (Abi), Brenna, and Cade Rainey, Laurie (John) Kendra and kids, Hawk and Nora Riordan, and Doug (Becky) Berger and kids, Gwen and Luke Berger. Also survived by many family and friends.
In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Imelda (Fertig) Cook.
All Services will be private to the family.
