Lois Ruth (Gallwits) Neely

1930- 2025

Lois Neely, age 95 formerly of Ravenswood Avenue, Pittsburgh PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA.

Lois was a 1948 graduate of West View high school.  She and her husband, Bob, were married in 1951 in Avalon, PA and they lived in California while Bob was serving in the Air Force.  Since then she has lived her life in the North Boros of Pittsburgh, surrounded by family and friends.  Lois was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Avalon, until it’s closure in 2024, and a volunteer worker for the local chapter of Meals on Wheels.  For the past several years, Lois has been living in Clarion and Brookville, PA to be closer to family. 

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Robert S. Neely, and her parents Karl W. and Lillian P. Gallwits.  She is survived by her two children Stephen (Sue Jamison) Neely, Karen (Mark) Wallisch, three grandchildren Brent (Megan Klinger) Wallisch, Tyler (Deanna Riley) Neely and Erin (Andy) Smith, two great grandchildren Luke and Claire Wallisch, her sister Carol (Gallwits) Hofer, of Columbus Ohio.

A family funeral was held for Lois on Monday, October 20, 2025 at the McDonald-Linn Funeral Home in Avalon PA.
