June Berger Obituary

June Rachel Sheetz Berger, 69, Zelienople, PA June 6, 1955-February 26, 2025

June Rachel Berger was born to the late Robert Sheetz Sr. and Shirley Alma Sheetz on June 6, 1955. She was born and raised in Avalon, PA, where she graduated from Avalon High School.

After graduation, June began her career at Harris Wholesale where she worked along side her father. Soon after, she married John Berger, and together they had their beautiful daughters, Julia Benson (David) and Jaclyn Alwine (Jon). They resided in Cranberry Twp., PA for over 30 years where June was an active volunteer in the community and worked at Cardinal Health.

June’s most precious joys in life were her five grandchildren: Connor, Owen, Jamen, Tenley and Koah. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and loved being their “Grammie.” She adored each one of them and took immense joy in their accomplishments and growth. Whether it was attending their school events, sharing stories, or simply spending quality time together, her love for them was boundless and unconditional.

June loved Jesus and was an active member of Grace Community Church in Cranberry Twp. where she volunteered in numerous ministries over the years. You could find her cuddling a baby in the nursery, serving coffee before service or being a small group leader. Her church family was truly an extension of her immediate family.

To know June was to love her and to be loved by her. June had the biggest heart for all children and has provided care for numerous families since her retirement. One of June’s favorite things to do was to be Mrs. Claus for local businesses and community events. She loved bringing Christmas magic to so many children and seeing their smiles brought her so much joy.

Since June’s mother passed, she loved caring for and spending time with her beloved father, Robert Sheetz Sr. Robert preceded June in death just hours before her, passing on February 25, 2025. Our hearts are broken, but we have immense joy in knowing that they are celebrating together in Heaven with our savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity.

Friends and family will be received at McDonald Linn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 529 California Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15202 on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 2-8 p.m. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 10:30-11:30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:30 a.m. at Grace Community Church, 9160 Marshall Road, Cranberry Twp., PA.
