Joseph George McMillan

Age 87, long time resident of the North Boroughs, on Monday, July 16, 2012. Joe graduated from Allegheny College, where he was captain of the basketball team. He was serving as a pilot in the Navy, stationed at the Naval Air Station, in Corpus Christi, when the war ended. Joe was an avid golfer and paddle tennis player at Shannopin CC. He was co-founder and owner of Lectromat, Inc., of Mars, PA. Joe always had a smile for everyone. His beloved wife of 62 years, Dorothy "Petie" Cook McMillan, preceded him in death on Thanksgiving Day, 2011. He is survived by his children, Barbara Lee McMillan (Roseann Szalkowski) of Roselle, IL, Gary George McMillan (Sherry Dinnen) of Allison Park, PA., Nancy Jo McMillan Myers (Terry) of Tigard, OR, and Karen Beth McMillan of North Hills, PA; five grandchildren, Kara Cacchione Czaplewski (Neal), Erin Marie Cacchione, Lisa Ann Cacchione, Melissa Dorothy Myers and Corey McMillan Myers; also two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Drew Czaplewski. Friends will be received on Friday from 5- 8 pm at the McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Inc. 529 California Ave. Avalon, Services will be private.
