Joni L. Dent

Joni Lynn Dent of Ben Avon, PA and Wintersville, OH, passed away peacefully at Caring Heights Community Care Center on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Born on July 23, 1946, Joni was the daughter of the late John G. and Lillian “Mickey” Bates, sister to the late Karen Ashby and the late John G. Bates Jr. Joni was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Roger Lee Dent. She’s survived by four children: Lynnette Dent, Terri Osburn, Chaz (Jerry) Dent, and Cody (Carla) Dent. She’s also survived by her two beloved grandchildren, Isabelle (Ashton) Osburn and Parker Dent, and many more loved ones who will miss her dearly. After 19 years at General Nutrition Centers headquarters, Joni retired in 2018. She was a breast cancer survivor and an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025, at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, 529 California Avenue, Avalon, PA 15202.  from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
