It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John F. Haney Jr., who left this world on October 5, 2024 at the age of 70. Jackie, as he was affectionately known by those close to him, was born on March 20, 1954,
A cherished son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Jackie brought warmth and laughter to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jackie is preceded in death by his parents John and Ruth (Lauer) Haney, brother Michael Haney, sister Kitty Devine, who we are sure are already bickering about everything, niece Lisa Devine, and nephew Arthur Devine. Their memories were cherished by him, and now they are reunited once more.
Surviving Jackie is a family who adored him deeply. His children, Amber Thompson (John), Michael Haney (Heather), and John Haney (Emily), were his pride and joy. His grandchildren, Annalee Thompson, Nicholas, Justin, Brandon, McKenzie, Andi Haney, and Amelia Falk brought him endless happiness and were the lights of his life and the center of his world. His “favorite” niece, Lori Golob (Joe), niece Jaime Ambrass and great-nieces, Mercedes (Christopher) Woodard, Shelby Golob, and Alexis Devine. Great nephew Cody Vari, along with great-great-niece Kiara Woodard, will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
Anyone who met Jackie instantly liked him. His infectious personality and warm smile made him a friend to all, and his way with people was as easy as his favorite pastime—fishing. Jackie often boasted of catching the biggest fish when no one was around to witness it, a testament to his larger-than-life storytelling and humor. A lover of Bud Light, a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and an enthusiastic viewer of Jeopardy, Jackie found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday October 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM at The Valley Veteran's Association 108 E. Beaver Street, Glenfield Pa. 15143
And now his family will repeat the way he ended every conversation, “Alright say Goodbye”
