Jerry Matthew Haslett

They say each man’s life touches so many other lives.  Once in a great while, comes along a unique man who touches and influences so many more people than the rest of us.  Jerry Haslett was that man. It really seems like the entire city of Pittsburgh and all of Allegheny County knows Jerry Haslett!  From the high school custodians to the head coaches and elected officials - everyone knows and LOVES Jerry!  He was such a powerful presence and truly a force to be reckoned with.  Jerry stood out in a crowd with his LOUD genuine infectious laugh and with the speech and verbiage that he used.  With his mischievous grin and playful nature, it is so easy to see why people were drawn to Jerry.  Jerry did not care if you were the school superintendent or the school grounds keeper, he treated all as equal.  Most of all, Jerry cares about and loves his family, friends, and his players.  He wanted the best for everyone around him. Jerry was real and he was genuine.  He wore his heart on his sleeve.  He was kind.  So many people in this city love Jerry Haslett, we love you so much! Jerry is survived  by his wife Sherry Haslett, His twin sister Judy and her husband Tom Haley, his brothers Jim and his wife Beth, Bob, Dave and his wife Mary, Jon and his wife Kris, children Michael (grandchild Kaberin), Jaimie (grandchild Jayden).  He is loved greatly by his nieces and nephews: David Jr., Brianna, Thomas, Amelia, Kelsey, Libby, Chase, Kayla, Kelly, Kara, Shannon, Kristen, Ashley.   Preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Charlene and Ira Haslett. Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the McDonald - Linn Funeral and Cremation Service 529 California Avenue Avalon, Pa 15202. A private funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday.
