Howard William Stringert

Howard William Stringert of Ohio Township, born November 13, 1927, went home to be with his personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday morning, July 23, 2012 at 84 years old after the blessing of a long and happy life. Howard was an active member of Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church, an honorable Korean War Veteran, a member of the Ohio Township Fire Department, a Food-Service Consultant/Commercial Kitchen Designer for McFarland and Associates, and an avid sports fan. Over the years he enjoyed spending time with his family, umpiring sports games, bowling, working with tools, teaching Sunday School, volunteering for Meals on Wheels for 15 years and camping in Tionesta Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his father William Howard Stringert, his mother Dorothy Stringert Schindler, many aunts and uncles, and his best friend A.B. Wadlow. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Evelyn Karl Stringert, two daughters and two sons-in-law: Kathy Hess (Harold Hess) and Amy Cain (Patrick Cain), four grandchildren and two granddaughters-in-law: Shelly Hess, Patrick Cain (Marie Cain), Andrew Cain (Maria Cain), and Michael Hess, one great-grandson Evan Patrick Cain, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests that donations be sent to Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church at 1828 Roosevelt Road Sewickley, PA 15143. Visitation will be held at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, 529 California Avenue, Avalon on Tuesday from 6-9 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church.
