George Wesley Beck
December 2, 1935 - September 16, 2022
On Friday, September 16, 2022, George Wesley Beck Jr, a beloved husband, and father passed away at the age of 86. He was born to the late Evelyn and George Wesley Beck Sr. He attended Avalon High school before spending 2 years in the United States Navy as part of the Construction Battalion, better known as “The Seabee’s”. While in the Navy he built barracks in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. After the Navy, he started Beck Roofing in 1969, where he ran his own company for over 30 years. He was an avid small game and deer hunter. George also loved to fish at Lake Erie and Pymatuning.
George is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lorraine Laura (Gerber) Beck; two beloved sons, Robert George Beck (Lisa) and Brian K Beck (Tracy); his six grandchildren, Russell, Mackenzie, Christian (Megan), Grace, Gabrielle, and Daniel; and two great grandchildren, Skylar Lee, and Nash William. He also leaves behind his sister Virginia “Ginny” Tate of Fort Payne, Alabama. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Russell “Russ” Charles Beck.
There will be a graveside memorial service at 11am on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2500 Brandt School Rd., Wexford, Pa 15090.
