Edward Harry Johns Jr.

Age 88, of Fayetteville, GA, formerly of Avalon, on Sunday, April 29, 2012. Edward Harry Johns, Jr., beloved husband of Martha Flaig Johns; loving father of Michele Ann Johns; brother of Ardith Holtz; uncle of Mike Holtz; preceded in death by his parents Edward Harry, Sr. & Uarda (Klink) Johns, a brother; William Johns and a niece; Jennifer Holtz. Mr. Johns attended Samuel Hamilton Elementary School, Perry High School and was a WWII Veteran having served in the Army (1943-46). In 1941 he was employed by the Pennsylvania Rail Road and retired in 1983 from Consolidated Rail Corp. "Conrail". From 1954-69 he served as Legal Rep for the Brotherhood of RR Trainmen Local 467 where served as Local Chairman from 1964-69. From 1966-76 served as President of W. Pa. Assoc. Locals, and a member of UTU Trnsp Local 1414 from 1969-80. Edward Johns, Jr. served God, his family and his country without limitations. We miss him dearly and will remember him always. Friends received Friday from 2-9 PM and again Saturday from 9 until time of services at 11 AM at the McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Inc. 529 California Ave. Avalon
