David F. Harrington

David F. Harrington, age 73 of Avalon passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023. He was born on March 18, 1950 and was the son of the late Francis and Lillian (Evans) Harrington. 

He was a graduate of Avalon High School and was a star basketball player, known by "the Tree" due to his 6'5"height, and went to play basketball at Duquesne University. He served in the Air Force for 4 years and continued with the reserves for an additional 20 years while working as a North Allegheny bus driver then working for almost 20 years at Port Authority, retiring in 2020. 

For many years he enjoyed life at his cottage where his brother Bud, who enjoyed biking while Dave enjoyed his car collection.  Dave spent many hours at the Emsworth locks and dam with friends enjoying great conversation.

Survived by his niece, Renee Lynn Harrington; sister-in-law, Sandy Harrington; and numerous cousins from the Cummings, Evans, & Bevan families.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother; William “Bud/Buddy” Harrington.
