Charlene Marie (Stringert)

Age 86, of Avalon, PA  passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, December 02, 2020. Charlene was a 1952 graduate of Avalon High School (Proud Avalon Panthers).

She meet her husband, Ira Haslett while they were both in high school. Ira was not a Proud Panther but a Bulldog from rival Bellevue High School. Soon after they married and were married for an impressive 64 years. She found her greatest joy in life being surrounded by family and friends. She boasted often about her five sons and one daughter and boasted even more about her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as Gram, Gramma and GiGi. Everyone who knew her would say that she was a feisty one. And, indeed she was feisty. She fought hard to stay here with us even when it was difficult for her to catch her breath, Every visit began with hey, where are we going” and ended with “ I love you”

She will be missed far more than words can express by her loving family. Her loving husband, Ira, Jr. passed away in September of 2017. She is survived by her children James (Beth), Robert, David (Mary), Jon (Kristin) Jerry (Sherry) Haslett and Judy (Tom) Haley also survived by 13 grandchildren, 09 Great grandchildren and her sister Helen (Crewie) Braun. Until we meet again, behave yourself in heaven. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be donated to the American Heart Association 1777 South Harrison St. Denver CO 80210
