Mary Lou (Platt) Hughes

Age 87, a lifelong resident of Avalon, on July 28, 2017.  Mary Lou (Platt) Hughes, wife of the late William C. Hughes, Sr; mother of Judy H. Ehrhardt (Bruce) of Ohio Twp., William C. Hughes, Jr. (Becky) of Slippery Rock and James P. Hughes (Lisa) of Ross Twp; five grandchildren; Kaitlin Remensky (David), Krista Miller (Ryan), Leah Boccardi (Matthew), Libby Thorpe (Chad) and Amanda Reutzel (Steve); eight great-grandchildren, Caroline, Elisabeth, Abigail, Landon, Amelia, Marina, Harper and William; also survived by two sisters; Jeanne Henry (Joe) and Marjory Kash.  Mrs. Hughes was a member of the Northmont United Presbyterian Church.  Friends received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the McDonald-Linn Funeral & Cremation Service, LLC., 529 California Ave. Avalon, PA  15202, where services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m., interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Good Samaritan Hospice, 116 Browns Hill Rd, Valencia, PA 16059.
