POLLOCK ERNEST M., Jr.
Age 91, of Ohio Twp., formerly of Mt. Nebo, peacefully on Monday, November 13, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Audree Pollock; dear father of Gregory Pollock of Naples, FL and Erik (Sofia) Pollock of Ashburn, VA; grandfather of Apolonia Pollock and the late Harrison Pollock; also survived by his sister, Annabelle Schwoegl. Ernest joined the Marines in 1945 and was in the 6th Marines, Second Division, First Battalion, A Company. He was the first replacement after the invasion of Saipan and was in a fake landing in Okinawa, and was among the first troops in Japan after the A Bomb. After WWII he worked for Duquesne Light Company retiring in 1984 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Ohio Township Volunteer Fire Company since 1955. Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at McDONALD-LINN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, LLC, 529 California Ave., Avalon, PA 15202 where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be donated to the Ohio Twp. Volunteer Fire company.
